Janeen Perona: I've wondered this as well. I thought of it with car insurance. It doesn't seem that buying two forms of insurance would be illegal but it seems like collecting from both would be. It is certainly immoral. If it wasn't fraud we could all do it and we wouldn't have to work anymore. Usually, an insurance company and the doctor/hospital interact directly. I think they might do this to prevent similar forms of fraud.
