world history.....?????

answers1: If your friend has a degree in history you need to find out
which particular period or aspect of history most interests her and
then tailor the gift to that. (European or American or Asian history?
ancient, Medieval or Modern? Social or political or economic
history?) World history is too vast a field and anything you could
find, such as a basic encyclopedia, would probably not be of much use
to her. <br>

I'm a historian myself so please trust me on this.
answers2: To get one on the entire history of the world would be very
difficult, is there a specific time period she is more interested in
