"splatterpunk" authors?

answers1: David J Schow is actually one of the founders of this
movement and there's also a few anthologies that collect stories of
this type titled Splatterpunks. Some other good horror authors that
might strike your interest are Bentley Little, Brian Keene (great
action, gore and awesome with zombies) Poppy Z. Brite ( I highly
recommend Drawing Blood, The Lazarus Heart and Exquisite Corpse (it
nearly didn't get published due to the violence and gore in it), Joe
Lansdale, Robert McCammon (not all of his stuff is horror or
splatterpunk but he's good at what he does), and John Shirley. If you
like vampires that lean in that direction you mgiht also like Maryanne
Mitchell and Jemiah Jefferson. <br>
